My name is Bob Jones, I’m 70 years young and finally retired.  I’ve been with Marino’s Fitness since January 2018.

I’ve been working out regularly for over 15 years and occasionally worked with personal trainers.  I was satisfied with my results, but as I got closer to retirement, I knew I needed more.  That’s when I found Marino’s.  I wanted to get in shape to enjoy retirement without being sidelined with age related aches and pains.  I need to be strong to continue living the life I know, which includes gardening and golf.

I can’t say enough about the coaching staff at Marino’s.  They are always prepared to address my specific needs and goals and help alter my program if I come in with an unusual ache.  Each month I get to collaborate with the Program Design Team in designing my next program.  You see, I don’t do the same exercises every time I come in.  The coaches progressively change the weights and reps weekly to ensure I am making progress.  Then each month, I get a new program, with new exercises so I’m continually challenged, and I never get bored.

I knew the program was working when I relandscaped my yard this year.  The last time I did this was 4-years ago and one feature I added was the placement of six very large, very heavy boulders.  If I had to guess, they were between 300-500 pounds.  Back then, it was a two-person job.  Not this year.  I was able to move them by myself.  I am able to log large logs onto my truck without any hesitation or pain.  But most importantly, my golf game has never been better.  I am driving the ball further and straighter than ever in my life.

If I had to describe the atmosphere at Marino’s it’s a combination of friendly, casual, and serious.  Everyone is working on their own individual program, but we occasionally stop to chat between sets, share a few laughs, and then it’s back to business.  People take their workouts seriously but not themselves. 

I never thought I’d last this long as I have but being at Marino’s is a part of my life and something I “just do” to keep myself moving and feeling great.  They keep me safe and develop great exercising programming that aligns with my goals.  There’s a registered dietitian on staff in case I need help with my nutrition.  And now they have two licensed massage therapists, who are also a part of the Program Design Team, who fix me up if I’m ever hurt.

If you think you’re too old to get started, you’re wrong.  A dear friend of mine just started and she’s 75!  Stop making excuses, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
