Fitness & Performance Coach

Sports and fitness have been a part of my life since childhood. Growing up, I was involved in soccer and basketball and played every season possible. Once high school ended, and ultimately my competitive soccer career, I took up running to fill my time. I have run everything from 5k’s to half marathons and a spartan race or two just for fun. I enjoy the challenge of something new and continuously trying out different activities to see just what my body is capable. I have recently switched from running to powerlifting to see just how strong my body can become!

I began my undergraduate career at West Chester University as an Athletic Training major, but quickly realized I wanted to work on the sports performance side of things rather than injury treatment and rehabilitation. With that desire in mind, I switched to Exercise Science and the rest is history. I loved the courses I was studying so much that I completed my bachelor’s degree in just three years. I was fortunate enough to be offered a Graduate Assistantship through West Chester University where I am finishing up my master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Physiology and set to graduate in December 2018.

Before landing at Marino’s, I received one of five nation-wide assistantships awarded through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and worked at Haverford College in their Strength and Conditioning Department. Through my year and a half there, I worked with 23 division III athletes and learned more than I ever could have imagined about athletic performance. While at Haverford, I completed my master’s thesis on “The Effects of an Adjustable Workout System on College Athletics” which I will be presenting on at local conferences for both the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
